Apricot

Supply Chain Management Platform for Retail

Apricot set out to rethink how retail businesses manage their supply chains. I joined the project at conception to design the UX and UI for a platform aimed at simplifying complex demand, merchandise, and operations planning workflows for a large UK condiment brand. The goal was to build an MVP that streamlined communication across the value chain while remaining intuitive and efficient for teams with diverse operational roles. The MVP was successfully piloted and let to post-MVP development phases.

My role

  • Led UX and UI design from initial concept to MVP delivery
  • Collaborated closely with developers and PMs to shape product strategy and workflows
  • Designed responsive interfaces for both desktop and mobile, supporting on-the-go operational use
  • Established and maintained a design system to ensure consistency and speed in future iterations

Process highlights

Building the foundation
Created a scalable design system to standardise components and patterns. This reduced rework, sped up iteration, and supported future product expansion.

Fast, iterative prototyping
I used low-fidelity sketches and wireframes to test ideas quickly with stakeholders. This allowed us to validate direction early and keep delivery fast.

Clear structure and documentation
I introduced clear file structures, design documentation, and regular reviews. This improved onboarding and kept cross-functional teams aligned as the project grew.

Impact

  • Delivered a validated MVP ready for live testing
  • Provided system foundations that reduced design time later
  • Improved collaboration and knowledge sharing through clear documentation
